Tuning Process & How it Works:

How tuning works, from a BMW tuning shop. Its fairly simple on your side. First, you start off by filling out the Custom Build Sheet Information form.  After filling that form out, you will be directly emailed by one of us at Copper Calibrations with the next steps.

Furthermore, we require you to grab a base file of the car. You are able to do this at home with either a K+Dcan cable for E-chassis cars or Enet cable for F&G-chassis cars. Depending on which Engine Archetype, and model of your car, we don't require you to grab a base file of the vehicle.

Once we have your base file for your specific car.  We will then modify, said file and create, what's known as a base map. This is a file made based on what's been done to the car and what information was provided on the form.

Moreover, we flash the base map, and start datalogging. This is what usually takes the longest out of all the other steps. When datalogging, we require that you do 3, 3,000RPM -> Redline, pulls. As well as, a few minutes of around town cruising to ensure Fuel Trims and other variables are stable for daily driving.

You send us the logs, we review, change, and send you the updated file.

Finally, once we have went through all the steps above. As long as both parties come to an agreement on how the tune runs and preforms. The Tuning Process is considered complete.

All work after the Tuning Process is complete are to be revisions on the agreed upon tune.
